Welcome to Nancy Bruns Arts

Through her art, Nancy Bruns presents nostalgic recreations of rural America.   With spontaneous renderings, Nancy focuses her intent, obtained from historic archived images and events, to bring the past to life.  After years of documenting Ohio landmarks, she interprets urban architecture, trains, and social life from an earlier time.  This online gallery represents a sampling of her work.

Nancy’s accomplishments include her award winning Brunswood Dolls and Bears, and Timeless Expressions consisting of her one-of-a-kind wooden, porcelain and cloth dolls.  As a retired art teacher, she currently conducts private art classes in painting, doll making, and mold making.

“My grandpa had a quote by Josh Billings hanging on his wall, which sums up my philosophy about life, and I truly love it,” she says, “it is one of my favorites, and it is how get things done” “Konsider the postage stamp, my son, its usefulness Konsists in its ability to stick to one thing until it gets there.”
